Lots of times in my life as a horse photographer I get surprised during my regular routine and today was no exception. I had just hung up some horse photos at a new local diner that was having their grand opening on this past Tuesday. I went in and hung each horse photo in an area that I thought would capture some well deserved attention and be appropriate for each wall they were on. Well on Wednesday someone left me a message that they wanted to talk to me about one of the photos that was in the restaurant. I called him back and he purchased the photo – just like that! Isn’t that FUN!
The second surprise in two days.
Then on Thursday I went to an appointment at a local office and I walked in to see two of my horse photographs hanging on the walls! I laughed and said to the receptionist “Wow, where did you get those? I have not sold those for a long time.” She enjoyed that I was the horse photographer and we both had a good laugh about it.
Why not start your day looking at a horse photograph?
At my last appointment of the day on this particular Thursday, I arrived to my clients house and after welcoming me inside she said, “Come with me, I want to show you something”, I followed, and she led me to her bathroom and said “Look in there”. I looked inside and on the walls were three of my horse photographed artistically staged in matching frames. Each one enhanced the other ones just right and she had coordinated her decor, towels, shower curtain, rugs – all of it to go with the horse photos. That was so cool to see that and then to feel how happy she was to experience that every day! I loved that she shared that with me!
Coffee and the mug of a horse.
One of my favorite surprises though is this one. My soon to be sister in law starts off every morning looking at one of my favorite horse photographs as she enjoys her coffee. That is pretty nice for sure but what makes this so special to me is that I happen to know that she has a great eye for details. I also happen to know that she is really particular about what she looks at every day. I am honored that she chose one of my horse photos to have as her artwork in her newly remodeled and beautiful home. That was a wonderful surprise for sure!

Hey Jody,
love your regular newsletter. Great set up in the diner. I was wondering how you go about it to get your wall art into these businesses? Do you just approach and ask or do you know the owner’s etc? I am trying to get a few of my photos up as well. Any feedback or help is appreciated. By the way I am from Reno where you just were in the Summer. I did take photos of Ashley as well but back in October. I couldn’t go in June unfortunately. Thanks Anett
