Horse’s Love Affair With the Camera

Hi! Just in case you haven’t noticed… Yes, I’m a gorgeous horse; well, aren’t we all gorgeous?

Why we love horses so much- Jody L. Miller Horse Photography

Let me tell you. I love getting my photo taken and being in front of the camera. Have I mentioned how gorgeous I am? Just take a look and enjoy my beautiful and toned body, my flowing mane. And what about my shiny and beautiful coat? I don’t spend hours training or having my body groomed for nothing. People say we are grazing and eating hay most of the time; wait, someone said hay!? Excuse me, no sir! We are great companions and are always there for our human best friends. It’s an exhausting job, and what a better reward than having great pictures of ourselves capturing every moment of our magnificence to share it everywhere? Don’t you see I’m a star?

Back to humans, sometimes they are hard to read. I wonder why most of them get all nervous and jittery when someone is about to take their picture. They go like, “oh no, wait, what if my hair comes out messy” and things like that. Maybe that’s why when they aren’t showing off the things they do riding us -yeah, we do all the job- they take all the credit; they take pictures of us. But they can’t let things flow; oh no, the other day, my human best friend brought a fancy camera and was like trying to get me to do silly things for the camera. Why was that person trying to put my ears up? I always look stunning; it’s funny how ridiculous that person looked thinking that I was going to cooperate. No way, stay away from my ears, human. I’m photogenic by nature; there’s nothing to fix there. Anyhow, I pretended to cooperate for a while, so everyone was happy, and I got a yummy treat. After enjoying the treat, it was my time to be a good boy, do some striking poses for the camera, and make my best friend happy.

Besides, photo sessions are so fun! I get to see behind the scenes, and I get all the attention, as it should be. It’s fun watching people trying to capture my best angle, the lighting, and many things I don’t understand, but you know what’s more fun? People running to get away from the camera,  not to be captured on film.  What’s wrong with them?

Well, now that my owner just finished bathing me, it’s time to go get my dirt bath. I love to roll and play in the dirt while I see my keeper’s frustration and despair. I would give a hay bale to have a picture of his face right now. I bet he wouldn’t like it. I’d better stand up and play nice.

So, before leaving, I would like to say farewell and remind you that we horses love being photographed, so don’t waste any chance to shoot your horse whenever you can, and don’t be shy, we enjoy having selfies with people as well.
