The bookings are filling up for my horse photo shoots in Perth, Western Australia.
When I fist mentioned the idea to my sister who lives in Perth, she said “I don’t really know anyone that owns horses”. Since then, she discovered that she actually knew a lot of people that owned horses and was unaware of that information. She’s lined up one person with 12 horses and one with several foals. So the horse photo shoots in Australia are getting booked.
Travel for horse photo shoots
This will be the farthest travel for a horse photo shoot yet. Typically, my commissioned Horse Photo Shoot sessions have been in Arizona and western United States. The idea of carrying all my computer and camera gear on an international flight is not that appealing. I have my Lowepro camera back pack that has held up for 15 years- so I will be using that. It hold my Nikon lenses and Nikon bodies and has plenty of padding to keep it safe during travel. I’m sure there are more lightweight packs on the market now since technology is improving all the time.
The long journey to Australia is daunting if you consider 30+ hours of travel but I love to travel! I’m trying to decide which suitcase to bring but it depends on my sisters “wish list”
Shopping wish list before Australia
Today I received my Walmart shopping list from my sister. If you have never been to Australia you may not know how much more expensive the cost of living is, especially on the western coast. A trip to the local Walmart for various sundries is on the schedule and filling my suitcase. It’s almost fall in Perth, their season is opposite than America. So, I’m anticipating shorts, long pants, tank tops, and jackets. Just the same weather we are experiencing now in Prescott.
Things to do in Perth
I’ve compiled my list of things to do while visiting Australia. Photo sessions with koalas, kangaroos and quokkas. We will of course, visit Kings Park, Caversham wildlife Park, wine tasting in Swan Valley, Fremantle Markets and of course just relax.
