Just released…the Yavapai Humane Society Equine Calendar for 2016. A representative from the organization had contacted me back in September to ask if I would volunteer my professional horse photography services. Throughout the year I donate my professional photography services and equine fine art pieces to several charitable organizations in the Prescott area. I am excited to see the way the Yavapai County Humane Society is implementing a brand new state of the art program, through a leading instructor from the Netherlands, as they introduce rehabilitated horses to the area of Chino Valley, Az in June of 2016 and so I eagerly agreed to do the calendar for them. I created 10 of the 12 horse photos for them -plus the cover of the calendar.

You can purchase the calendar online or in the Prescott Thrift Store. All proceeds go towards the new Equine Facility. The mission for the new facility: “The purpose is to find the horses that have been neglected, abused or abandoned that have quality of life and the potential to be somebody’s horse.” I really feel like this is a mission that I can agree with and am happy that I was contacted by them to do a major portion of the photography for this fundraising material. I felt the enthusiasm from the participants as I went around to take the photographs for the individual months. I am eager to see the facility myself and to see how it is all coming together to find some horses a great home. I also look forward to the continued growth of the facility as they consider possible additional programs that integrate human needs through horse therapy programs. How exciting that our community is interested in this cutting edge way of rehabilitation for horses and eventually humans. There is a great turnout on volunteers already involved. There are more articles and a few short videos to watch on the Yavapai County Humane Society page.
