There’s a Reason That Attitude Begins With “A”

There’s a Reason That Attitude Begins With “A”

Attitude is everything. Do you ever notice that when your attitude is positive it feels like you can accomplish almost anything? You finish the things that you are doing with great speed and enjoyment. You even get up from your desk and do a little victory dance after you’ve made that “touchdown.” Or you permit yourself to exclaim, “Dang, I’m good!”

What’s in a Positive Attitude Anyway?

Attitude is contagious and the people you are surrounded by are rubbing their attitude off on you, just as you are on them. So be aware of what direction the flow is going. Attitude affects your health, your wealth and your successful feelings. When you keep your attitude on track at any given moment, you begin to look at your world in a different, and yes, more rosy light.

Positive Attitude Philosophy

Create your own mantras or little encouraging statements to get you through the day. These become your Positive Attitude Philosophy. Some make a wall plaque from their Positive Attitude Philosophy and hung it in plain view. Your design can be as simple as one guiding principle.

Mind’s Eye Successes

Visualization—tap into your vast mental resources and create in your mind the excellent end results you desire. This involves picturing and practicing upbeat mental diversions that you can call on when you are preparing for a challenging encounter or you need a distraction from a difficult time. Give yourself a rewind on your own personal mind video player, and the instant replay is yours as many times as you need it to support you.

Positive Daily Affirmations

Making and affirming your own personal declarations will make a world of difference in your outlook and your habits. Design your own upbeat daily declarations and deliver them to yourself in the mirror.

Other People’s Stuff Rubs Off On You

How do you feel when you meet someone who is full of joy and conveys their good nature almost every time you see them? The mind-set of these types of people is infectious. But so is the mind-set of negative folks. Take a look at the folks you associate with. Do you find yourself wanting to avoid someone because they always see the dark side of life, or they cling to you or are always asking for something?

Get by Giving

Look for ways to give constant praise and encouragement. This applies to you whether or not you manage other people. Everyone needs to receive compliments and be the recipient of respect and appreciation. When you see the delight on someone’s face or hear the thrill in their voice when you praise them, you are gaining a powerful force as well as giving it.

Dump Time

Get a trash can for these. When you get phone calls that are harassing or negative, simply hold the receiver over the trash can and allow the dumping to go directly into the receptacle. Consider a regular visit to the county dump on the way to work or home. Make up a box of trash mail, trash email, trash reports, or trash thoughts you write down and bring them to the county dump. Fling them with abandon!

Feeling more positive now, I’ll bet.
