One of the best things about a good idea and a tradition is that everyone feels that they are in on it as the idea or the tradition is being engaged in. I like this because then when the season comes along – or the moment – then no one person is in charge of making it happen and enticing everyone to come along into that moment.
There’s a Horse in My House!
I love horses and as often as I can, I like to include them in my life. Everything about them moves me, so when I saw that I could include my horse photography into a daily item that others could implement into their daily routine or yearly traditions etcetera, I was exuberant. I love the quality of the horse photograph on coasters, cutting boards, and even on facemasks. If I am going to make cookies, have a small get together or even go to the grocery store then I reach for one of my Jody L. Miller horse photograph items as my signature item to keep me feeling connected and reminded that I am indeed living my lifelong dream of being a fine art horse photographer.
It’s an inner celebration for me that has become a tradition as I see it reflected back to me in my kitchen in use as I get ready to entertain. I love choosing the coasters and cutting board as gifts to my friends and family along with a wonderful bottle of wine, some great cheese or some flavored olive oils. It’s a fun surprise to them that keeps on giving throughout the years to come. I love the horse photography spirit coming through the item that is just a part of life sitting there waiting for you to put your glass on it or to make some lovely salad for dinner or lunch. I also love the idea of my horse photography being passed along in traditions in teaching kids to cook or to eat well as they cut up an apple for themselves and horse in the paddock. It’s just another way for kids to get to connect and feel with horses the way that I did as I grew up wanting to be a horse photographer and finally realizing my dreams when I was in my late teens.
