Hanging horse photos, that’s close to home.
I had an unexpected, but really nice, horse photo order that came to me in recently. I always love it when people that are close to me find a horse photograph of mine that resonates with them. This was the case here as well. My soon to be Aunt in law, who already feels like family to me, found one of my horse photos that she thought would be just right for her living room space over her couch.
Narrowing down the right color scheme for the horse photos.
She let me know which one she was interested in – Half Way Home from a photo shoot at Flying E Ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona. She had a special request for the sides of the canvas so that it would match the colors in her living room. I assured her that this would look fine and would blend well on her horse photograph canvas as well. We matched it up with another photo that she had in mind to create a scene on the wall that told a story. At her suggestion, we were able to use the same coloring around the edge of the other canvas to blend the two photos with her living room decor as well as with my horse photograph. After editing the photos online to meet her requests, I submitted the order. Then the waiting started.
It’s here! New Horse photo arrives.
The company I use to print my professional horse photographs not only does great work but they have a great turnaround time as well. It took about a week for them to arrive on my doorstep. I always love opening them up, it’s like Christmas and my Birthday all rolled into one day, that I get to experience all throughout the year as my horse photos get shipped to me. It’s really fun for me! So here it is, I have opened it and it looks great, then I sign it and let my signature dry. A few texts later and then the date to hang it in her home is settled on too. I am never quite sure who is more excited at this point, me or my clients. As a professional horse photographer, I really do enjoy being able to hang one of my horse photographs in the purchasers home but this time was a little extra special for me. I was looking forward to seeing how it all came together.
It’s today! Time to hang the horse photo.
The day to hang my horse photo arrives and I make my way through my appointments, load the car with the photographs and dinner and I am on my way. The hanging them up is easily accomplished as they are going on the hooks that are already there! She sure did think this through thoroughly! One goes up and the color perks up all of the other decor that has those colors in it as well. Just like that, the room is transformed and cohesive. The second canvas goes up and it sure does tell a story right alongside my horse photograph. I really do think the pairing is nice in the story it tells.
Many happy returns.
I hope she loves it for a long time to come. It is a neat thing that the light of the day highlights different aspects of the photo and allows both of them to play off of each other as well as the rest of the room. I am happy that she chose so well and was delighted to see, and be a part of her vision for her living room come to life with a piece of my work. What a lovely evening hanging horse photos and I know I will enjoy it at many happy family gatherings to come. I like thinking of her enjoying her new view and the horses welcoming her home or sharing some relaxing moments with her throughout the day. Thank you for the honor of your wall space and attention.
