Horse Photos get new home in Sedona Gallery

Sedona Gallery - Horse Photos Jody L MillerI have been a guest artist at the Village Gallery in Sedona, Arizona for the last two months.  Sadly, it was time to take my fine art horse photos down from that wall and put them up on a new location, which I thought was going to be located in Williams, Arizona.  I had been enjoying my periodic trips over to the Sedona area.  Sedona has incredible landscape and red rock terrain.  All the fellow artists had been welcoming and seemed to be a fun group.  I was sorry to be leaving them.

New Wall, same Sedona Gallery

I had already taken down the remainder of my horse photographs that had not sold, packed them neatly in their boxes, and was just going to borrow the ladder to take out the last of the nails from the wall.  It was currently being used by one of the permanent artists as she put up her new display in one of the front windows.  I introduced myself and she replied, “I adore you and your work! Why aren’t you staying as a permanent artist?” and she gave me a big hug.  It caught me off guard and I chuckled at first.  Before I could really answer her, actually at the same time because she started to ask one of the Gallery owners, on duty at the time, why or if anyone had already asked me to stay.  I should have predicted this, after all, they have a horse in their front yard.

A little more to the left.

After all of that settled and we stopped talking at the same time, I began looking around the gallery to see if they had an open wall space for my display.  It all happened in a flurry of one minute.  Where was my “Easy Button”- I didn’t Sedona Gallery-Horse photos Jody L. Millereven have to ask, they asked me.  I was shown my choices of walls and settled on a fairly large wall in the back of the gallery.  It turns out the wall just left of the Guest Artist wall was one of the walls available and so I took that one.  It’s a great spot in the gallery with lots of light as well as room to take a few steps back to see some of my larger pieces that can be hung over a couch or in a bedroom area, foyer, theater room, pretty much anywhere you have some great expanse of space to fill with a beautiful horse photo!

Sedona Gallery becomes second permanent location

I had just been commenting out loud recently, within the last 6 months really, how much I would like to be showing my work in another gallery in Arizona.  I’ve enjoyed my permanent location in Prescott, Arizona for 7 years at Arts Prescott Gallery.  I have shown as a permanent artist in a few Galleries that have unfortunately had to close their doors.  I continue to do guest show appearances at various locations.  But, here was my new location, right there in front of me.  I am very happy to be a part of the Village Gallery in the Village of Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone there and the locals too!  It feels great to have my work there already! I am definitely eager to be there as a permanent artist during their First Friday Art Walk coming up.  It just feels like such an easy transition to be there as a permanent artist and as I said before, every artist has been so welcoming to me and happy to see me become a permanent artist there too!  How does it get any better than that?
