Horse photos in Prescott, Arizona

Horse photos in Prescott, Arizona.

I love capturing good horse photos in my own backyard.  Not actually in my own backyard, my back yard is 10 x 15 and although a horse would fit, I don’t think my home owners association would allow it.  I am referring to horse horses in prescott arizona-horse photographer jody l millerphotos taken right here in Prescott, Arizona.  In the last 12 years I have attended on average one photo workshop each year.  I have taken instruction from some of the best horse photographers, like Tony Stromberg, Tamara Gooch, Carien Schippers, Bev Pettit and Carol Walker.  It’s been fun getting to know these photographers and see their vision of capturing horse photos.  Attending each workshop has resulted in creating some really amazing photos but still some of my best horse photos have been captured right here in my hometown of Prescott.

Unexpected horse photos in Prescott.

Best place to retire in Prescott, Arizona

I’ve lived in Prescott for more than 15 years and I truly love this wonderful western town.  I’m not sure I will retire here but I can certainly see the draw.  Prescott repeatedly has been voted one of the best places to retire in the United States.  Time magazine recently voted Prescott among the happiest and healthiest communities. In more recent years it’s become a bizarre mix of trendy restaurants and breweries, some progressive and some backward thinking folks.  Lots of hippie style college kids, a whole lot of drug rehab folks and a huge population of retired people.  One thing that has remained a constant in the charming western lifestyle and heritage and horses!  Even just a few miles from town you will find residential neighborhoods with horses.

Horse photos in downtown Prescott.

Art galleries continue to pop up around the downtown Prescott square.  I’m fortunate to call Arts Prescott gallery in the heart of whiskey row-my hometown gallery.  I’ve been part own of this gallery since 2009 and the gallery itself was established by local artists in 1994.  On May 26th 2017, during the 4th Friday Art walk we will be celebrating our 24th anniversary!  If you happen to live in Prescott or be visiting during Memorial Day weekend, be sure and stop in for a piece of cake, and wish us Happy Anniversary and check out the horse photos along with all the other amazing art work.
