Almost life size Fine Art Horse Canvas

How the 5 foot Canvas came about

Until last year the largest fine art horse photograph I had printed on gallery wrapped canvas was 36” x 48”. Since I stand only 5’2” tall and my arm span is small-it was a handful to maneuver a 4 foot canvas. But, when I began editing and creating theses dramatic images in Photoshop, from the Windswept Manes shoot I realized that I needed to go even larger to do them justice. The printing service I use can do an over-sized canvas so I tried “One with the Sea” in a 40 x 60 gallery wrap canvas. I was so excited when the package arrived and I unveiled this large canvas. The horse almost came to life and jumped from the canvas. It was just the look I was going for. I enjoyed it for a few days in my living room before bringing it in to the gallery.  While I was enjoying this particular photo enormously, I was also really excited to see a few of the other photos from the collection in this size as well. Large Homes need large art

All over the country we have a lot of new homes being built with extremely high ceilings and just larger rooms in general.  A 5 foot horse picture on canvas can be easily accommodated now not only in living rooms but also in bedrooms, guest rooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, or an entry way.  As I came home to it every day to make business phone calls and do some work, I realized that this would go in an office really well.  I found myself just looking at this photo as I talked on the phone.  I think it’s easy to feel inspired by it.  This photo turned out to be one of the great, what I call, touchstones of the collection because they feel calming yet empowering to me.  Many home buyers in my area enjoy horse and western décor, but you don’t have to be a horse lover to enjoy these beautiful images.  Just after Christmas a nice couple came into the gallery and purchased “One with the Sea” in all its glory at 5 feet high.  They explained to me that they had just remodeled their living room and had an entire wall made from old barn wood.  They thought it would be perfect on that wall.  I received a message from them after they arrived home telling me how perfect it fit and how much they loved the photograph.  I love that I was the one who got to bring it to life and share it with others.
