Arts Prescott Gallery Celebrates our 23rd BIRTHDAY

Arts Prescott Gallery celebrates 23rd Birthday!

Arts Prescott Gallery- Jody L. Miller Equine Fine Art PhotographerArts Prescott Gallery in the heart of whiskey row is celebrating it’s 23rd birthday. 2017 transitions the gallery into it’s 24th year doing business in downtown Prescott, Arizona.  The public is invited to join us in our celebration on May 26th from 5-8pm.  Our celebration coincides with the 4th Friday Art walk in Prescott, Arizona.

The gallery wants to thank the community of Prescott, Arizona for supporting us for 23+ years. Some of the original founding members will be on hand that night to help celebrate the evening and all of the 24 members feel the excitement of what 23+ years means for a cooperative gallery.

One of our members, Randy (Bubba) Shackleford was quoted in 2008 in the Daily Courier and the quote still rings true today.

“This show is more about coming for fun, hanging out, and to just enjoying yourself,” said Randy “Bubba” Shackleford.

Shackleford said that support for fellow co-op members dealing with issues like cancer or a death in the family in the past year has shown how the co-op provides artists a unique fellowship, and a place “not just to sell their art, but a chance to really become artists.”

“It has given me an opportunity to become an artist in my hometown,” he said.

As a co-op, we mutually support each other. We work to everybody’s strengths. Some of us are better at accounting or administration and some are better at promotion and advertising. Each one of us is allocated a different task. We all have different personalities but the 24 of us have a common agreement as to what the gallery should be like.  On the rare occasion that we don’t we have policies and procedures in place to resolve any issue.
